Apparently, I Need to Make Things

I’ve always been happiest when I’m making something.

Give me an idea, some supplies and a little time, and I’m probably going to disappear down a creative rabbit hole. Over the years, I’ve made jewelry, crocheted scarves, soap, skincare products, miniature fairy houses and furniture, wreaths, cards, T-shirts and probably a dozen other things I’ve forgotten about.

Some things I’ve sold, plenty have been given as gifts or donated, and a lot were made simply because I wanted to see if I could do it.

That’s probably what I enjoy most—figuring things out, experimenting and turning an idea into something I can actually hold in my hands.

And yes, sometimes making things is a pretty damn good way to get your mind off everything else going on. 😂

These days there’s plenty to distract me: renovating a neglected house, rebuilding the yard, creating a garden, exploring the Oregon Coast, making YouTube videos and keeping up with two kittens who believe everything I do should involve them.

So naturally, I still make things.

Apparently, that’s just what I do. And I’m pretty sure I’m nowhere near finished yet. 💜
