Techy Tuesday Is BACK

✂️ It’s time to bring back Techy Tuesday on Lorrie’s World!

Every now and then, someone asks me to bring back a little of the tech and creative content I used to share, and this time, I’m answering that request! We’re kicking things off with an introduction to Cricut Design Space, inspired by my friend Lori over at Dude Where’s My Car? It All Adds Up.

If you’ve ever looked at a Cricut machine and wondered how people turn an idea into a finished T-shirt, decal, card, or other handmade creation, you’re in the right place!

Getting Started with Cricut Design Space

Cricut Design Space is the software that allows you to create and prepare designs for your Cricut cutting machine. It’s where you can add text, work with images, arrange design elements, and turn your creative ideas into projects.

In this first Techy Tuesday video, I’ll walk you through an introduction to the program and start exploring the basics. My goal is to make the process a little less intimidating for beginners and help you feel more comfortable getting started.

You don’t have to be a professional designer to create something fun. A little curiosity, some patience, and a willingness to experiment will take you a long way!

Let’s Make a T-Shirt!

Of course, I couldn’t just talk about the software without putting it to work! Once we’ve explored the basics, I’ll begin working on a new T-shirt design.

We’ll get the project started in this video, but the design won’t be finished just yet. I’ll continue working on it in the next Techy Tuesday installment, so you’ll have to come back to see how it turns out!

I think following an actual project from the beginning is a useful way to learn. You can see how the different tools and features come together rather than simply watching someone click through menus.

And let’s be honest: sometimes the best way to learn new software is to jump in, try something, and figure out what happens next. That’s how a lot of my creative adventures begin!

What Would You Like to Learn?

I’m bringing back Techy Tuesday for a while, and I’d love to hear what you’d like to see covered in future videos. We can explore Cricut projects, design software, creative tools, and other technology-related topics that might help you with your own projects.

Whether you’re brand-new to Cricut or you’ve had a machine sitting on a shelf waiting for inspiration to strike, I hope these videos encourage you to give it a try.

Be sure to visit my friend Lorie at Dude Where’s My Car? It All Adds Up, and leave a comment letting me know what you’re creating!

Watch the video, follow along, and let’s get creative! 🎨

And don’t forget to watch for the next installment, where we’ll pick up the T-shirt design and continue turning the idea into something we can actually make.

Thanks for joining me on Lorrie’s World. Here’s to learning something new, making a little mess, and having fun along the way!

Coming up next: We’ll continue the T-shirt design project in the next Techy Tuesday video.
